Our outright winner prediction for Stake Ranked Episode 3
We’re picking paiN Gaming to win at the Stake Ranked Episode 3 finals. They’re one of the top contenders, along with Ninjas in Pyjamas, based on their VRS points and recent match history. The odds currently have paiN Gaming as the 2nd favourite behind Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Although Ninjas in Pyjamas won Episode 2 in May, they haven’t performed well at any other major tournaments this year. Meanwhile, paiN recently finished 5th-6th at IEM Atlanta and 7th-8th at the CS Asia Championships.
Can NiP defend their Stake Ranked title?
Ninjas in Pyjamas are the 2nd highest-ranked team at Stake Ranked Episode 3, and are the current defending champions after winning Episode 2. If they win this tournament, they’ll become the first team to ever defend the Stake Ranked title. However, since their title win, they haven’t competed in any other tournaments. This 2-month break could potentially hinder them in their ability to compete in the LAN tournament.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have a win rate of 71% on Nuke over the past 12 months. Unsurprisingly, this is also their first pick. Their highest ban rate is on Inferno, where they have a 0% win rate in 5 matches over the past year. Meanwhile, their win rate on Overpass is 46%. Their top player is stavn with a K/D ratio of 1.27
paiN Gaming - can one of South America's top teams take the title?
As one of the top teams in South America, paiN Gaming are no strangers to S-tier tournaments. This will be their first appearance at Stake Ranked, but this year they’ve competed in multiple international events. Most recently, they finished 17th-19th at IEM Cologne Major, while they also achieved a 5th-6th finish at IEM Atlanta.
In the last 12 months, Nuke has been the most-picked map for paiN Gaming, with a win rate of 67%. Meanwhile, Ancient was their most banned map, while also having their lowest win rate of 25% over 12 matches. Based on the latest map trends, Overpass is another map they’ve struggled on. They have a win rate of 33% on this map. Their top player is piriajr with a K/D ratio of 1.05
Dark horse picks for Stake Ranked Episode 3
Wildcard
Wildcard is the 3rd-best team in the competition based on their June VRS ranking. However, they’re the 5th favourite according to the latest odds. They may not be as highly rated as paiN or Ninjas in Pyjamas, we can’t count them out. They’ve had some solid performances at recent LAN tournaments such as PGL Bucharest 2026, where they finished 9th-11th. Wildcard also won the offline FRAG20 tournament in April.
3DMAX and HEROIC
3DMAX had a disappointing performance at Stake Ranked Episode 2, losing their Upper Bracket quarterfinal to magic, which had entered through the closed qualifier. Alliance then eliminated them in Round 1 of the Lower Bracket. 3DMAX face HEROIC in the upper bracket quarterfinals and have a chance to improve on their previous performance.
HEROIC also went out in 2 matches at the last Stake Ranked tournament. They lost their Upper Bracket quarterfinal to Ninjas in Pyjamas, the eventual champions. In Round 1 of the Lower Bracket, they lost to 9z Team. HEROIC could perform better this time, as they have an easier opening match against 3DMAX. However, they’ve only competed in 1 other tournament since their last Stake Ranked tournament.
Gentle Mates
At rank #30, Gentle Mates are the lowest-ranked team to receive a Valve Regional Standings invite. They previously came 3rd-4th in the closed qualifier of Stake Ranked Episode 2. In addition, they finished 7th-8th at Stake Ranked Episode 1. It will be interesting to see if they can improve on their performance this time around. They’re currently 4th favourites to win the tournament, but we expect them to underperform their odds based on performances at other LAN tournaments this year.
Can K27 or Phantom pull off a qualifier upset?
K27 and Phantom entered the Finals of Stake Ranked Episode 3 through the qualifier. Phantom Esports actually became the first team to ever progress to the Finals from the open qualifier, while K27 were invited to the closed qualifier based on their #46 VRS.
K27 probably has the best chance of upsetting the odds, but this will be the first A-tier tournament they’ve played in. However, they do have experience of playing in an offline S-tier tournament. K27 recently finished 15th-18th at PGL Astana 2026. They face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the upper bracket quarterfinals, which they’re not favoured to win.
Phantom are currently unranked, and this will also be the first time they’ve played in an A-tier tournament. Their best performance at a LAN tournament before this was winning a C-tier tournament in 2025. As such, it’s unlikely they’ll be able to get a win against the bigger teams in the tournament. They face paiN Gaming in the upper bracket quarterfinal, which they’ll most likely lose.
Our bracket predictions for Stake Ranked Episode 3
Upper bracket - our predicted run to the final
The 2 tournament favourites, Ninjas in Pyjamas and paiN Gaming, are on opposite sides of the upper bracket. If they win all their matches, they’ll meet in the upper bracket final. We’re predicting paiN Gaming to come out ahead and make the Grand Final.
Lower bracket - who survives and reaches the grand final
Wildcard and Gentle Mates are 2 strong teams who are matched up against each other in the upper bracket quarterfinals. The double-elimination format means that teams which lose their upper bracket match get sent to the lower bracket.
We’re predicting Wildcard will lose their opening match and be sent down to the lower bracket. However, our prediction is for them to win their lower bracket matches and defeat Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower bracket final to reach the Grand Final against paiN Gaming.
Our predicted Stake Ranked Episode 3 final and result
Our predicted final is paiN Gaming vs Wildcard. We think paiN Gaming will win 3-0. The South American team has looked stronger in other LAN tournaments, with an impressive 5th-6th place finish at IEM Atlanta 2026.
Map veto predictions and player prop picks for Episode 3
While making your picks, check the ban rate and win percentage for specific maps. Some teams excel on specific maps where they can use a strategy that works best for them, but every team has a map that they’re weakest on. Paying attention to these stats will help you choose map winner bets and also give you an idea of how each team will perform. However, it’s important to note that teams sometimes save the maps they perform the best on for crucial elimination matches. As a result, map veto trends don’t always repeat during the tournament.
Player props such as total kills, kills per round, headshots or multikills are also available on Stake Ranked Episode 3 matches. You should make player prop picks based on the stats coming into the game. Has any player stood out in the earlier rounds or previous LAN tournaments? When there’s a big disparity between the 2 teams, you might consider betting on the over line for total kills.
Value bets and parlays for Stake Ranked Episode 3
To find value on Stake Ranked Episode 3 matches, you should be looking for markets where the true probability is higher than the odds suggest. For example, if you think K27 will upset the odds in their match against Gentle Mates. Pay attention to recent form, and make the most of live betting markets to react to the action as it happens.
With parlays, you can combine multiple bets inside your bet slip. This will increase your odds and potential winnings, but each selection has to win for your bet to payout. Manage your risk carefully when placing parlays on Stake Ranked. The Stake Shield feature is available to activate on qualifying parlay bets, ensuring that even if one selection loses, your bet can still win.
